Lydia Harmon graduated from California Institute of
The Arts with her BFA in dance and from the University of AZ with an MFA in costume design. She began
her professional costuming career in 1989 designing costumes for The Magic of David Copperfield's
television specials and stage shows while dancing as his magic assistant. Upon retiring from dance
she worked in the costume shops of Houston Ballet as well as Houston Grand Opera on productions such
as Dracula, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Madame Butterfly, Magic Flute, Salome and many more. Since the
inception of Tutu Etoile in 1998, her company has designed and constructed costumes for many productions
all over the country for ballet, operettas and musical theatre.
In addition to running Tutu Etoile, she
is the resident costume designer for the renowned faculty at the University of Arizona's School of dance.
Her extensive experience in professional dance, costume design and construction has made Ms. Harmon
appreciate the importance of the fine quality fit, fabrics and construction techniques used in every
Tutu Etoile costume. These costumes are proudly created to enhance your dance experience, and make
your production a success.
